Deliverance
Based on an article written by David Stein,
but written according to TSN understanding.
by D. J. Love, minister, TSN, SBC
Scripture is highly symbolic. Yahweh in His infinite wisdom made it that way so that it would appeal only to those having Yahweh's Righteousness seeking mind set (Holy Spirit). Others reject it as nonsense.
Not only is Scripture and the Apostolic writings full of anthropomorphisms, parables, and other forms of physical to Spiritual parallels, but numbers are, also, symbolic. Most Bible students already understand the significance of seven and forty; but how many are aware of the significance of the number fifteen? This is not a number we often encounter in Scripture, and its obscurity has not made it a candidate for deep study. However, even this number has Spiritual significance and meaning associated with it. Yes, the number "Fifteen" is most often used to symbolize deliverance, along with ideas of restoration, restitution, and healing.
Hosea 3:1-5
1 Then said Yahweh unto me, "Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of Yahweh toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods (immortals), and love flagons of wine."
2 So I purchased her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
3 And I said to her, you shall remain for me many days; you shall not play the harlot, and you shall not be for another man: so will I also be for you.
4 For the children of Israel shall remain many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek Yahweh their Elohym, and David their king (as Messiah); and shall fear Yahweh and his goodness in the latter days.
This interesting text deals prophetically with the future relationship of (Spiritual) Israel to Yahweh. This directive to Hosea to marry an adulteress makes sense only when we see it as the physical to Spiritual parallel of Yahwehs relationship to adulterous Israel. Israel adulterously served pagan gods, showing her unfaithfulness to her Marriage Vows (covenant or Commandments). However, the time will come when Elohym (Yahweh) will redeem (Spiritual) Israel from that condition and deliver her into a new and righteousness seeking relationship.
The price of fifteen pieces of silver for the deliverance of the woman connects the symbolic meaning of this number with the concept of deliverance. However, the homers of barley allude to the "Firstfruits" and the wavesheaf, thus signifying Spiritual Israel (The Chosen Few) who were purchased with a price (fifteen pieces of silver). Additionally, one and one half omers of barley equal (you guessed it) fifteen ephahs.
2 Kings 20:1-6
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick to death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, so said Yahweh, Set your house in order; for you shall die, and not live.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Yahweh, saying,
3 I implore you, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 And it happened, before Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of Yahweh came to him, saying,
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, so said the LORD, the Elohym of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: look, I will heal you: on the third day you shall go up to the house of Yahweh.
6 And I will add to your days fifteen years; and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
Hezekiahs prayer was answered, and he was delivered from death for an additional fifteen years of life.
Genesis 7:19-24
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered (under 15 cubits of water for the highest).
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days (ten times fifteen).
The Court of The Tabernacle
Exodus 27:14-15
14 The hangings (curtains) of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.
15 And on the other side shall be hangings of fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.
The gate to the court, the door to the tabernacle, and the vail dividing the Holy from the Most Holy all symbolically represented Messiah Yahshua: I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Meaning, according to the example of my ministry on Earth, and thus, the path to deliverance was through the fifteen cubits of curtains or vails; of which the vail covering the Holy of Holies was rent in two at Messiah's death.
The Altar of Burnt Offering
Exodus 27:1
1 And you shall make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height there shall be three cubits.
This made each of the four sides of the altar five cubits wide by three cubit high, and thus each of the four sides of the alter equaled fifteen square cubits. Thus it was an altar of "Deliverance," and symbolized Messiah Yahshua.
Numbers 33:3
3 And they departed (were delivered) from Rameses (symbolic of Satan and Sin) in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
The Appointed Feasts of Israel
Leviticus 23:6,34
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahweh: seven days you must eat unleavened bread.
34 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days to Yahweh.
Therefore all "Appointed Feast Days" fall on the fifteenth day of their appointed month, and always occur when the Moon is Full with Light; signifying deliverance from darkness.
The Total Number of Steps to the
Inner Court of Ezekiels Temple
Ezekiel 40:22,31-32
22 And their windows, and their arches, and their palm trees, were after the measure of the gate that looks toward the east; and they went up to it by seven steps; and the arches there were before them.
31 And the arches there were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts there: and the going up to it had eight steps.
32 And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures.
Ezekiels temple had an Inner and an Outer Court. There are seven steps to the Outer Court and eight steps to the Inner Court. Thus there are fifteen total steps to the Sanctuary of the House of Yahweh in order to reach the place of deliverance, healing, and restoration.
Micah 5:5
5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Thus we have a total of fifteen deliverers.
There are many more examples of the number fifteen representing "Deliverance" from "SELF" (Satan or Sin). And if you are interested you might do the research yourself or do a Google search for David Stein.
Remember Always!
It is the "Intent of the Heart" that pleases or displeases Yahweh.
(Hebrews 4:12)
May the "Intent of Your Heart" be to seek out Yahweh's Righteousness
according to the Spiritually Selfless example of Messiah Yahshua, and
may the gift of Yahweh's Indwelling Holy Spirit bring favor upon you,
and you are delivered from eternal death by Yahweh's merciful Love.
